We simply had to get one of these Haas Halos smooth hydrangeas for our garden. Those platter-sized lacecaps couldn't be resisted.
Planted out in the garden, we were impressed with its heat tolerance and resistance to wilting during dry, baking summer days.
The fat stems are a big deal to us - they easily hold aloft the 14" diameter, pollinator-magnet lacecaps.
Oh, you love bees and pollinating insects? These giant lacecap heads have centers packed with fertile flowers, so you will attract your insect friends to your garden.
Now that we tested it for ourselves, we offer 1-gallons for mail order for y'all.
This is another smooth hydrangea that makes a lovely cut fresh or dried flower head.

To Make It Thrive
Give 'Haas Halo' smooth hydrangea rich soil plus consistent moisture in a soil that drains. It may require extra watering, but no standing water. Place it in full shade or afternoon shade in the deep south (zones 8 and 9), but full sun is okay farther north. Best flowering is with some sun.
Is this a pollinator plant? Yes! This smooth hydrangea is a lacecap so it has a cener of fertile florets that really attract the pollinators.
